Let's talk about sex
If you’re wondering about sex, you’re not the only one. Everyone has sexual feelings. You might be wondering about what it would be like to try different things, and when the right time will be to try them. It may seem like lots of people are having sex, but in fact, half of teens aren’t -- seriously!
Remember the decision to have sex is yours and yours alone, and it’s okay to wait to have sex if you feel you’re too young or just aren’t ready yet.
Any kind of sexual activity can affect your body and your emotions, so whether or not you have sex is a BIG decision. But by educating yourself, you can make the choice that’s right for you. If that sounds like a lot to figure out, don’t worry, there are people who can help. Whatever you decide, don’t let anyone pressure you into doing something you’re not ready for.
Your parents can be a great place to get info, and you should really try to talk with them. But if you are too embarrassed or uncomfortable you can talk with your doctor, nurse or go to a family planning clinic. If you don’t think you can talk to your parents by yourself, your doctor can help you to talk to them. Luckily for me, I have my Aunt Lucia—she’s a doctor and she’s totally cool.
